Setting it up
Decide whether the lean player is the right trade on this set
Smart IPTV buys speed by giving things up, so the question is whether you want what it gives up. On a 2016 or 2017 television whose processor struggles, its leanness is worth more than any feature, and the small one-off fee buys a set-top experience the set cannot otherwise manage. On a 2020 or newer panel there is enough power for IPTV Smarters, which is free, carries a proper guide and keeps the catch-up and on-demand sections. Decide by the age of the television, not by the price.
Install it and write the MAC address down
The app is listed as Smart IPTV in both the Samsung and the LG store, so search that name and install it. The first launch puts a MAC address on screen and does very little else. Write it down or photograph it now, because the next step happens on a completely different device and walking back to the television to squint at it is how the digits get transposed. The MAC belongs to the television rather than to the app, so it does not change when you reinstall.
Send the playlist to that MAC
On a phone or laptop, go to siptv.app/mylist. Enter the MAC exactly as shown, colons included, paste your Smart4K M3U link into the URL field, tick Keep online so the list is retained, and press Send. Nothing is typed on the television at any point in this. What you are doing is leaving a playlist at the developer site addressed to that one set, which the app collects the next time it starts.
Close the app fully and open it again
Not a pause and not a return to the home screen: a proper close, then a fresh open. The app reads the playlist at launch, so the channel list appears on that second run and not before. A television showing nothing at this point has usually just not been restarted, which accounts for most of the messages we get about this app.
Attach the guide if you want one
An M3U link carries channel names and addresses and nothing else, so the programme guide has to be supplied separately here. It is the same server address ending in xmltv.php with your credentials attached, and support will send it across on request. Without it the channels play perfectly and every entry sits blank, which people read as a broken list rather than as a missing guide.
Activate after the seven days, and know who is being paid
Seven days in, the app stops and asks to be activated for that one television, which is done at siptv.app/activation. Two things are worth being clear about. The money goes to whoever wrote the app rather than to us, and we cannot take it, refund it or troubleshoot it. And the charge attaches to a television rather than to a household, so three sets means three of them. Work that out before you install it everywhere, because at three televisions the fact that IPTV Smarters is free starts to matter.
When the picture is wrong
The list uploads successfully and the television still shows nothing
Wait a minute and restart the app properly before assuming anything failed. Then check the MAC character by character, colons included, because one wrong digit sends your playlist to a television that does not exist and the site will cheerfully confirm it was sent. Remember too that the app holds one playlist at a time, so a second upload replaces the first rather than adding to it.
Channels play but every programme slot is empty
This is the app working exactly as designed. The M3U it was given carries no programme data, so there is nothing to display until the guide is attached separately. Ask support for the xmltv address and add it in the app settings. If you would rather not deal with a separate guide source at all, that is the strongest single argument for using IPTV Smarters with an Xtream login instead.
The list vanished after the television updated itself
A firmware update or a factory reset clears what the app had stored locally, and on some sets it can change the MAC the app reports. Open the app and read the MAC again rather than assuming it is the one you wrote down. If it matches, re-upload at siptv.app/mylist. If it has changed, the activation follows the new MAC and the developer site is where that gets sorted out.

What is the difference between Smart IPTV and SSIPTV?
Two unrelated developers arrived at almost the same idea and gave it almost the same name, which is why half the guides online mix them up. The practical split is where you type the link. This one wants it left at the developer site against the set MAC, as described above, while the other will accept a link entered on the television itself. Both read a Smart4K playlist, so the right one is simply whichever your television store carries.
Why is there no login screen?
Because the app was written to avoid typing on a television remote, which is genuinely the worst input device in the house. Rather than entering credentials on screen, you leave the playlist at the developer site addressed to the set MAC and the app collects it. It is unusual and it works. The cost is that the list is tied to one television and has to be re-sent if the set is reset.
Is the Smart IPTV fee a subscription?
No, it is a one-time activation for one television, paid to the app developer after the seven-day trial. It does not renew and it does not include any channels, because the app has none of its own and is only a shell for whatever playlist you send it. Your Smart4K plan is separate and entirely unaffected by it.
