On a Tuesday afternoon every link in the chain has slack in it. A feed is carrying a fraction of its audience, the street is quiet, the router has nothing else to do, and a 4K stream arrives looking exactly as it should. None of that is a test. The test is eight o clock on a Saturday, when the same feed is carrying everybody at once, your neighbours are all streaming something, and the picture has to survive all four links at their worst moment simultaneously.
That is the whole reason this page exists in the shape it does. The list of what is carried takes one table and is much the same wherever you buy. What is worth reading twice is the second half: how to work out, in about a minute, which link went soft, because the fix is completely different depending on the answer.

Working out which link went soft
When a stream stumbles at kick-off, the instinct is to blame the provider and the second instinct is to blame the Wi-Fi. Both are sometimes right. Four checks, in this order, tell you which:
- Is it this channel or every channel? Open something unrelated in another group. If the second channel is clean, the problem is one feed under load and the answer is the same fixture on another broadcaster. If everything stutters, keep going down the list.
- Is it this screen or every screen? Start the same channel on a phone over mobile data. Clean on the phone and rough on the television means the fault is inside your house, between the router and the panel, and nothing upstream will fix it.
- Does the HD copy hold? Switch to the HD entry of the same channel. If HD is steady while 4K breaks up, the chain is carrying about a quarter of what it needs to; that is a bandwidth answer, not a server answer.
- Does a cable change it? Twenty seconds with an Ethernet cable settles the Wi-Fi question permanently. If wired is clean, the last three metres were the weak link all along, and a powerline adapter or a mesh node solves it for good.
Most match-night complaints resolve at step two or step three, which is worth knowing before a fixture rather than during one.
The ten minutes before a big night
- Put the fixture in a favourites group in daylight. Scrolling 25,000+ channels at kick-off is how people miss the first goal. A guide-driven player makes that easy; the TiViMate guide covers the setup.
- Park the HD twin next to the 4K entry. Both copies of the same channel, adjacent in your favourites, so switching costs one click rather than a search.
- Wire the main screen if you can. Wi-Fi handles HD comfortably. 4K on a busy evening is the case where a cable earns its keep.
- Open the stream five minutes early. The player fills its buffer while nothing is happening, which is the cheapest insurance available and costs you the pre-match build-up you were not watching anyway.

Is the NFL carried in full?
The broadcasters are all here: CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN, NFL Network and NFL RedZone, through the regular season and into the playoffs. RedZone is the one most households settle on, because it moves between games on its own and removes the temptation to channel-hop during the Sunday afternoon window.
Which Premier League feeds are carried?
The British broadcasters that hold the rights, and the overseas feeds of the same fixtures. Rights are sold market by market, so one match often exists in the line-up several times over with different commentary teams. If one copy is struggling, another is usually two rows away in the same group.
Are the pay-per-view nights extra?
No. UFC, boxing and the WWE premium events are carried on the night at no additional charge. Anyone who has bought two or three of those separately already knows the comparison, and we would rather leave the sum to you than run the numbers on your behalf.
What happens when a fixture is blacked out locally?
Because the same competition is sold to broadcasters in several countries, a fixture missing from one national feed is normally present on another that carries it. That is a description of what sits in the line-up, not a promise about any individual match on any individual night.
Which player is best on a match day?
