Decide whether this screen actually wants Smarters
Settle this before installing anything, because the answer changes by screen rather than by household. On an Android television that will be used every night, TiViMate has the better guide and is worth the small licence. On a Samsung or LG panel from the middle of the last decade, Smart IPTV is lighter and will stay quicker. Smarters wins in two situations: when the screens in the house run four different operating systems and you want one set of habits across all of them, and when you are still deciding whether the line is any good, because it installs in five minutes and costs nothing to abandon.
Install the build that matches the platform
Android phones, tablets and Android TV take it from Google Play. A Firestick has no listing and must be sideloaded through Downloader, which the Firestick guide walks through in order. Samsung and LG stock it in their own stores under the name "IPTV Smarters". On an iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, search the App Store for "IPTV Smarters Player". Windows and macOS installers come from the developer site rather than from either app store. Installing more than one build is normal and costs nothing, since the account is not tied to a device.
Choose Login with Xtream Codes API
Accept the terms on the opening screen and you are offered two routes in. Take "Login with Xtream Codes API" and leave the M3U option alone unless support has specifically pointed you at it. The reason is not preference. An Xtream login pulls the channel list, the programme guide, the catch-up window and the on-demand library as four separate feeds the app can index; an M3U hands over one long flat file and the guide has to be attached separately afterwards. Same line, different amount of work.
Enter the three values from your activation message
Name the profile whatever you like, since that field is cosmetic and affects nothing. Then type the username, the password and the server address exactly as they were sent, keeping the http:// at the front and the port at the end. Capitals matter in the username and the password. Press Add User and the app starts pulling the list, which takes a minute or so on a first run. If you paste rather than type, check the end of each field for a trailing space, which chat apps add more often than people expect.
Let the guide fill before you judge it
On a list this size the programme data arrives well after the channel names do, so the first thirty seconds look emptier than the app really is. Give it a few minutes on that first load. Then open Settings, EPG, and switch on "Enable EPG on live TV" so the current and next programme sit on screen while a channel plays. Without that, you are browsing thousands of numbered entries with no idea what is on any of them, which is the single most common reason people conclude a large line is unusable.
Set the decoder, then check what the panel is receiving
Open Settings, Player settings, select the built-in player and set hardware decoding. That routes the stream to the chip, which is what you want on a stick or a television. Where one channel stutters while the rest behave, change that one channel to software decoding from the player menu during playback rather than altering the global setting. Finish by checking the far end of the chain: play a 4K channel, then its HD twin in the same category, and look at motion rather than at the logo. If the two look identical the limit is the panel or the connection, not the player.
When the picture is wrong
Sound arrives but the screen stays black
This is a decoding failure rather than a dead channel, and it is nearly always the video codec rather than the stream. The audio track is simple enough for anything to handle, so it plays while the picture silently fails. Switch that channel to software decoding first. If the picture returns but the device runs hot or the motion smears, the chip cannot decode that codec at that resolution, and the lower-bitrate copy of the same channel is the honest answer.
The channel list opens completely empty after a successful login
A login that is accepted and then shows nothing usually means the app reached a server and got an empty answer, which points at the port rather than at the credentials. Pull down to refresh, then sign out and back in. If it is still bare, retype the server address by hand, port included, and look carefully for a missing digit. A wrong port will frequently still return a valid-looking login screen before failing silently at the list.
Smarters closes itself a few seconds into playback on a Firestick
Two causes, in this order. Clear the cache under Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications, since a corrupted guide cache will crash the app on the exact moment it tries to draw the overlay. If it survives longer but still dies, the build is old: remove it and sideload a current APK. A version from two years ago on current Fire OS is a common and undramatic cause of this.

Is IPTV Smarters Pro free?
The app costs nothing on every platform that carries it, and nothing is ever charged inside it. What surprises people is that it opens completely empty. It ships with no channels of its own because it is a player and not a service, so it does nothing at all until an Xtream login or a playlist is entered. If any screen inside the app asks you to pay for channels, you are not in IPTV Smarters Pro.
Does the player itself limit picture quality?
Not directly. It cannot add detail the feed does not carry, and it will not throw detail away either. What it does control is which decoder unpacks the stream, and a wrong choice there shows up as tearing, smearing on fast motion, or a black screen with working audio. Set hardware decoding, then look at the rest of the chain: the bitrate of that channel, the line into the house, and what the panel can actually display.
Smarters or TiViMate on the same Smart4K line?
Both read the same credentials, so this is not a decision you have to get right first time. Smarters is free, installs on everything, and is enough for most viewing. TiViMate exists only on Android and asks a small annual or lifetime licence, and buys you a genuinely better guide grid plus recording and multi-view. If live sport is why you subscribed, TiViMate repays itself quickly. If the television is one of six screens across four platforms, standardising on Smarters is worth more than the better grid.
Can I run Smarters on several devices at once?
Install it on as many devices as you own; nothing counts installations. What the plan counts is simultaneous streams, which is what the connection number means. On a one-connection line every device can stay signed in, but only one can play at a time and a second will be refused. Two, three and five connection tiers exist for households where that matters.
